English and Chinese Dialogue
英语指南
This experimental design focuses on reconstructing a historically significant English-Chinese dialogue textbook, originally written during the Guangxu period and published during the Republic of China era. The textbook employed rudimentary translation techniques to address the lack of systematic English learning methods at the time, aiming to help ordinary people quickly grasp basic conversational English. Its content, rooted in common communication scenarios, used a straightforward English-Chinese comparison method with concise sentence structures, reflecting the practical needs and explorations of Chinese society toward English learning during that historical period.

The objective of this experiment is to reimagine and modernize the textbook by integrating contemporary design principles, colors, and layouts, making it more visually appealing and suitable for modern usage habits. The approach involves reorganizing the text, optimizing its structure, and incorporating a grid system alongside fonts and colors. The design concept adopts an internationalist style, emphasizing clarity, simplicity, and practicality in information delivery.
