"Bullet comment" Street showIn the context of the digital era, the evolution of information dissemination has given rise to new cultural phenomena. The bullet comment (danmu), as a form of online interaction, shares visual density and spatial perception similarities with the large-character advertising signs found in China’s old urban neighborhoods—both create visual impact through high-intensity information output. The real-time interactivity of bullet comments and the forced intrusion of street signs together exemplify the "carnivalesque" characteristics of contemporary information culture, reflecting collective emotional catharsis driven by digital anonymity and the inflation of expressive desire.

Building on this observation, the artistic practice involves 3D scanning and graphic reconstruction of street signs, exploring the boundaries of visual expression while obscuring their original informational function. The publication design further integrates bullet-comment elements with the visual features of street signs, employing highly saturated colors to replicate the chromatic effects of digital screens. This cross-media artistic experiment not only deconstructs the original referentiality of information but also, through interactive exhibition design, prompts viewers to contemplate the tension between individual expression and collective catharsis in an era of information overload—offering a fresh perspective on understanding contemporary information ecosystems.
